Six CVHS Athletes Sign Early With Schools

Six CVHS student athletes announced that they will compete in NCAA Division I and II programs after high school. The six students – Madison Delgado, Carli Eberly, Jordyn Hock, Hannah Lally, Jayden Taitano and Dana Wentz – signed early letters of intent with the schools. The students are (alphabetically):

Madison Delgado, the daughter of Tony and Lisa Delgado, will attend Kutztown University while playing soccer for the Golder Bears.  An honor roll student, Delgado plans to major in education and minor in graphic design. Delgado was a 2017 Lancaster-Lebanon League Second Team All-Star, the same year that her team was the Section Champion, District III Champions and a State AAAA semi-finalist. She was a 2018 and 2019 unanimous First Team All-Star and voted the Section I MVP in 2019.  Delgado is a 2019 PSCA All-State Selection and has 36 career goals and 19 career assists as a forward/midfielder.  

Carli Eberly, the daughter of Cindy Eberly, will attend Mansfield University while playing field hockey for the Mountaineers.  A distinguished honor roll student, Eberly was a Lancaster-Lebanon League Academic All-Star in 2019.  Eberly was a four-year starter on the field hockey team as a forward/midfielder, earning L-L League Honorable Mention All-Star in 2018 and First Team All-Star and All-League honors in 2019 as she helped to lead her team to the Section I Co-Championship for the first time in school history. Eberly is also a member of the CV softball team.

Jordyn Hock, the daughter of Jen and Trent Hock, will attend Lehigh University while participating on the track and field team for the Mountain Hawks.  A distinguished honor roll student, Hock plans to major in biology. Hock is a member of the school record setting 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams and the 2019 4x100 state medalist team. Hock is an 11-time League medalist, a six-time District medalist and a State medalist, earning medals in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 4x400 relay and 4x100 relay, including a first-place finish in the 4x4 and a second-place finish in the 4x1 at the L-L League meet and second place finishes in both relays at the District meet in 2019. 

Hannah Lally, the daughter of Kerri and Nick Wright, will attend Mansfield University while playing field hockey for the Mountaineers. Lally played field hockey for four years in high school, lettering in her final three years while playing left back. In 2019, Lally earned L-L League Honorable Mention All-Star recognition while helping her team earn the Section 1 Co-Championship for the first time in school history.

Jayden Taitano, the son of Robert and Amy Taitano, will attend the California University of Pennsylvania while majoring in Health Science and playing baseball for the Vulcans.  Taitano is planning to play catcher on the CV baseball team for his fourth year this spring. So far, he has earned three varsity letters and has been a starter for three years, earning Second Team All-Star recognition in 2019.

Dana Wentz, the daughter of Rob and Linda Wentz, will attend Kutztown University while playing soccer for the Golden Bears.  A Distinguished Honor Roll student, Dana plans to major in sports management. Dana played varsity soccer for three years in high school and was named captain her senior year.  In 2017, her team was the Section Champion, District III Champions and a State AAAA semi-finalist. She earned Second Team L-L League All-Star honors in 2019 as a defender, helping her team to a second-round finish in Districts. On the track and field team, Dana is a member of the school record setting 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams which took first place (4x4) and second place (4x1) at the L-L meet, second place in both at the District meet and fourth place at the State meet (4x1). She holds three League and three District medals and a State medal as a member of the relay teams.
